Normally I dislike zombie stories, but in this one, the zombies are minions instead of the actual villain. A refreshing change of pace. The author also didn't delve into gratuitous descriptions of gore that are too often associated with the "horror" genre, instead giving us the psychological terror of someone caught out of their depth.
The writing style reminds me of the descriptive style of Edgar Allen Poe. I definitely recommend this story.

The Zombie Carnival edition by Nico Winter Ellis Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
A young girl's fear of her dangerous and foreboding surroundings set the tone for this very descriptive and intricately written romp with zombies.
I got so lost in the character I forgot it was about 'zombies' ( not a zombie book fan). Really enjoyed the read)
I love the cover. A well written interesting short story and I look forward to reading more from this author.
